Fall {Back} in Love With Your Work

Photography by Bree McCool Photography

The past year will go down in history as a year that changed the way a lot of us think about our relationship with our work.

In the beginning many people initially had fears around keeping their job, and then- the reality of figuring out how to do that job from home with all the distractions that accompany that- homeschooling kids, dogs, making three meals a day.

What I’ve seen as a coach during this pandemic is that those who are willing to use this time for their own growth have been slowing down and questioning what work really means to them. They’ve realized that they no longer want to do anything that doesn’t have meaning and purpose, because life is too precious and too short to wait until some nebulous future when their real lives (and their real work) can begin.

You may be one of the small percentage of people who love your work- but I guarantee that you are adjacent to someone who feels like they are suffocating in their current role. This is my sweet spot as a coach- supporting people in finding more meaning, more purpose, and more joy right now in the work they’re already doing. Even if the answer is to ultimately move on, there is so much opportunity in whatever their current role is. Because if there’s one thing I know- the same issues will follow us from job to job until we deal with them.

I find that this is especially important for all levels of leadership- not just for us, but for those we lead.

I’m hosting a complimentary virtual workshop about this very topic called Fall {Back} in Love With Your Work on Saturday, May 22nd. Go to my events page to learn more and register if this calls to you- or pass this along to someone in your life who could benefit from exploring this timely and important topic.

Hope to see you there!
